Description
In 1996, another, more powerful version of the Isdera Commendatore 112i saw the light, with the same 6.9 liter engine from AMG, which already developed 620 hp. and 775 N∙m. Curb weight increased to 1700 kg, full weight - up to 2200 kg. The dimensions and main characteristics remained practically unchanged, remaining at the level of the previous 6.9-liter version, and the main gear on both versions was unified at 3.33. The maximum speed of the top version increased to 370 km/h, with acceleration to hundreds in 4.0 seconds, and up to 200 km/h in 11.25 seconds.
For this version of the Isdera Commendatore 112i, DM 800,000 have already been requested.
However, not even this version became the most powerful model, at the end of the year, the company announced that it was ready to install the next version of the engine on the Commendatore 112i (they had been working on it since 1994), boosted to 710 horses at 7500 rpm and 815 N ∙m at 5400 rpm. This engine would allow the supercar to reach a top speed of 395 km/h and 0-60 km/h in 3.6 seconds, making it the fastest German car allowed on public roads. For the right to own such a unit, the manufacturer asked for only 860,000 German marks.
The last swan song for Isder could be its most extreme version - 800-horsepower, with improved aerodynamics and reduced ground clearance to 100 mm, which, according to the company's calculations, was supposed to break the 400-kilometer speed barrier, and its price would reach the cost of million German marks, however, work on it was dragging on until 2001, when it was decided to discontinue the Commendatore 112i.
It is reported that the development of the car cost 4 million euros. This, combined with the ongoing economic recession, led the company to bankruptcy shortly after the introduction of the automobile. Then the company was bought by Swiss investors, under whose leadership Schultz finalized the car, in particular its handling on the road.
