Ferrari 550 Barchetta Pininfarina

Ferrari 550 Barchetta Pininfarina is a convertible version of the 500 Maranello model. The model was presented at the Paris Motor Show in 2000 to commemorate Pininfarina's 70th anniversary. The Ferrari 550 Barchetta Pininfarina was a real roadster without a real convertible top. A fabric soft top was available, but it was only intended for temporary use to protect the interior from rain, as it was not considered safe to use at speeds above 110 km/h. Aesthetically, the Barchetta had a more deeply raked windshield than the coupe to improve aerodynamics, rollover hoops behind the seats for driver safety, and a longer rear end than the coupe to complete the sleek overall design, resulting in more cargo space than the coupe. at the coupe.

Special features include a sportier interior with leather-wrapped carbon fiber racing seats, carbon fiber trim, a personalized plaque signed by Sergio Pininfarina, and spoked wheels and a manual cloth top for emergency use.

The car's mechanicals remained unchanged as the coupe, but the engine was coded F133C mainly for differentiation. Performance figures differed from the 550 Maranello due to the loss of the roof, the 0-100 kph acceleration time was the same as the coupe at 4.5 seconds, but the top speed was reduced to 300 kph.

A total of 448 cars were produced, four more than the original 444 cars planned due to Japanese market prejudice regarding the number 4. These 448 cars were preceded by 12 prototypes, numbered P01-P12 on their interior plates. To the observer, prototypes and production cars are indistinguishable. The last copy left the factory in December 2001.
