Description
The Ferrari F512M was presented in October 1994 at the Paris Salon as an update to the 512 TR and the latest version of the Testarossa. It was also the last of the aging Ferrari Flat-12 engines, which first appeared in the 1973 Ferrari 365 GT4 BB.
In terms of performance, power has increased by 12 hp. up to 440 hp at 6750 rpm, and torque up to 550 N∙m, thanks to new titanium connecting rods and a new lightweight crankshaft.
As a result of all the modernizations and the reduction in weight of the sports car, its dynamic characteristics have changed: acceleration from zero to 100 kph decreased from 4.8 s to 4.7 seconds, and the maximum speed increased from 313 to 315 kph.
On the exterior, the front and rear lights have been redesigned. The pop-up headlights were replaced by two fixed square units. The taillights have been replaced with round ones. The model also received new front and rear bumpers in the style of the Ferrari F355 and a new hood cover with two NACA air ducts.
Inside, the familiar interior was retained, but a new steering wheel and adjustable drilled pedals were added.
A total of 501 examples of the F512M were produced, of which 75 were right-hand drive, making the model the most scarce in the modern Testarossa series.
