Koenig Ferrari 512 BBi Twin Turbo
Description
The Koenig-Specials 512 BBi Turbo is a deeply modernized version of the Ferrari 365 GT4 BB/512 BB, produced from 1976 to 1984.
The 365/512BB model was quite massive and did not shine with serious characteristics; the 4.9-liter V12 produced 335 hp. After installing a Koenig exhaust system, replacing the timing belt, replacing the pistons with Mahle pistons and equipping them with two turbines, the engine began to develop 650 hp. The sports car accelerated to hundreds in 3.9 seconds, and the maximum speed reached 330 kph versus 280 kph for the production car.
The body kit for the Koenig Ferrari 512 BB was designed by Vittorio Strosec, the man behind most of the Koenig-Specials body kits. The body kit consisted of a new front bumper, a rear bumper, flared rear wheel arches with fins, scoops on both sides for extra air (Turbo version only), an integrated rear spoiler and a typically huge Lamborghini-style wing on top of it. The wider wheel arches were filled with fat Pirelli tires measuring 225/50 VR15 at the front and 345/35 VR15 at the rear.
Stiffer road springs and dampers were installed, but the ride height was left standard. Brake discs and calipers have been upgraded
At the buyer's request, Koenig-Specials also modified the interior of the 512 BB. It features a Clarion G80 sound system and a full leather interior.
About 50 sports cars were modified by Koenig-Specials, increasing the price of the base 512BB by about 50%. Ironically, Koenig-modified cars now cost much less than their unmodified 512 BB counterparts.
