Description
Ferrari GTC4Lusso (Type F151M) is a four-seater full-size supercar of the Gran Turismo class. It was unveiled on February 8, 2016, ahead of its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2016, like the previous Ferrari FF, which it replaced in the Ferrari lineup. Production of the GTC4Lusso expanded in the summer of 2020 without receiving a direct successor.
The GTC name and some external details, such as the side vents, were used in honor of the Ferrari 330 GTC (1966-1968). The number “4” first means the number of seats, and secondly the new 4RM-S all-wheel drive with steering rear wheels (instead of the previous number F – “Four”, as on previous Ferrari FF models). “Lusso” - in the terminology of the late Enzo Ferrari, meant Luxury (luxury) in honor of the Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso (1962-1964).
Like its predecessor, the GTC4Lusso was a three-door hatchback (shooting brake to be exact) with an all-wheel drive drivetrain and a front-to-front V12 engine.
The Ferrari F140 65° V12 engine with a volume of 6.3 liters on the GTC4Lusso model had a power of 690 hp. (on the FF model – 660 hp), torque – 697 Nm (on the FF model – 683 Nm). The increase in engine power is due to a compression ratio of up to 13.5:1. As a result, acceleration to 100 kph was reduced from 3.6 to 3.4 s, the maximum speed remained unchanged – 335 kph.
The car features an improved 4RM-S version of Ferrari's patented all-wheel drive system introduced on FF models, integrated with all-wheel steering. In addition, the supercar is equipped with the latest stage of the lateral slip control system (Slip Side Control 4.0), an electronically controlled differential (E-Diff) and adaptive shock absorbers (SCM-E). The suspension was also double wishbone at the front and multi-link at the rear.
The Ferrari GTC4Lusso repeated the proportions and body contours of the FF model, but differed in certain stylistic elements: a wider radiator grille with integrated air intakes, stampings on the hood, ventilation “gills” in the front fenders (like the Ferrari 330 GTC), pillared rear lights (last seen ) on the F430 and later on the 812 Superfast), a transverse roof spoiler and a redesigned rear diffuser.
The local cabin has been modernized within the framework of the “double cockpit” concept, which continues the separation of the driver and passenger halves, respecting the transmission tunnel and the presence of an additional screen above the glove box, duplicating the indicators with the instrument panel. The package also includes an improved Left system, developed by Delphi, with a 10.25-inch touch display on the console. The steering wheel has been made smaller thanks to a more compact airbag.
