RUF SCR 4.2

Introduced in 2016, the RUF SCR 4.2 embodies the philosophy of the original RUF SCR, which was produced from 1979 to 1981. The number in the title "4.2" denoted the equipment with a 4.2-liter engine.

Instead of the bored-out engine from the air-cooled 993, the SCR was fitted with a water-cooled version of the Metzger engine that powered the Porsche 911 GT3 (997). The volume has been increased to 4.2 liters and its power output has been increased to 525 hp. and 500 Nm of torque.

Power was sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission with a limited slip differential, allowing the car to accelerate from standstill to 100 kph in 4.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 322 kph.

The car had a multi-link suspension with carbon-ceramic brakes and the original five-spoke alloy wheels with a diameter of 19 inches.

The carbon fiber monocoque was integrated with a roll cage covered with carbon fiber panels, creating the look of the Porsche 911 (964). Which also, in addition to increasing the strength of the body, made it possible to reduce the curb weight of the SCR to 1190 kg.

Like the original SCR, the SCR 4.2 featured a "whale tail" rear wing and front bumper with round channels for brake cooling, tiny side mirrors, and a slotted rear bumper.

To improve stability, the model has been extended its wheelbase by 70mm, moving the front axle forward by 50mm and the rear axle by 20mm, without increasing the overall length compared to the original model.

Like the outside, the interior was styled after the Porsche 911 (964), starting with a five-dial fascia, vertical windshield, low-mounted shifter and slightly offset pedals. The headlining, like the door cards, was carbon fiber, but featured a rough and textured surface. The steering wheel was wrapped in Alcantara, and the fixed-back Recaro seats were upholstered in retro style.

The cost of the car was approximately 500 thousand euros.
