Koenig KS8 Turbo I

The Koenig-Specials KS8 Turbo I was introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in 1992 and was an upgrade of the production BMW 850Ci (E31 body) with a 5.0 liter V12 engine.

The main modernization of the engine consisted in equipping the 12-cylinder block with a mechanical supercharger in the collapse of the cylinders and an intercooler behind the front bumper. Instead of two air filters, one straight-through was installed. The exhaust system has also been replaced. As a result of improvements, power increased from 300 to 450 hp.

Stiffer springs and shock absorbers appeared in the chassis, the ground clearance was reduced by 30 mm and incredibly wide wheels were installed: front – 245/40 R17, rear – 335/35 R17.

As a result of retrofits, the maximum speed increased to 300 kph, and acceleration from standstill to hundreds was reduced from 6.8 to 5.6 s.

The body of the sports car received a new plastic body kit that covers almost the entire body - false wings, false thresholds, false door panels, developed bumpers and a rear wing. All BMW logos were removed, as were the branded "nostrils".

There were practically no changes in the interior, except for the installation of a new three-spoke steering wheel.

A total of 12 copies of all modifications were built. One of the cars in black went to the collection of the Sultan of Brunei, a famous lover of rare cars.
