Description
After six years of development, the Isdera Commendatore 112i was presented at the Frankfurt International Motor Show in 1993 with a new engine modified by AMG with a displacement of 6.9 liters, which already developed 548 hp. and 707 N∙m, which allowed the car to accelerate to a speed of 360 km/h, and reach the first hundred in 4.4 seconds. Curb weight increased to 1650 kg.
The five-speed gearbox gave way to a 6-speed final drive with 4.20. This is due to the fact that it was originally supposed to use a manual gearbox, but Mercedes-Benz did not have a suitable unit and Ebererd Schultz had to buy a Getrag gearbox from the Porsche tuner Ruf, who independently added sixth gear to it.
According to Eberhard Schulz, the car would have seen the light of day much earlier if the management of Mercedes-Benz did not pull with the issuance of permission to use their engine. Schultz's plans were to build several cars for public roads and present a racing version for participation in the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans race in France. But in 1993, Japan experienced a major economic downturn, and since most of the funding came from Japan, Isdera was forced to restructure, and the Commendatore 112i project was almost stopped.
Thus, until 1996, Isdera offered this model in two versions, a 6-liter, which became 395-horsepower, road and a 6.9-liter sports model, with a capacity of 548 hp.
For the model Isdera Commendatore 112i in 1993, they asked for DM 620,000.
