TVR Cerbera Speed 12

In 2000, TVR was determined to continue the project and launched a road version called the Cerbera Speed 12. But one day, the head of the company, Peter Wheeler (owner of TVR), decided to personally test one of the prototypes, driving it home. When he returned, he said, “After 300 yards, I realized it was a stupid idea. More than 900 hp For a road car weighing less than a ton, this is simply a ridiculous solution. In no gear is all the power fully realized. What's the use of it then? According to him, it was clear that the car was too powerful, and its behavior on the road was completely unacceptable. The decision was radical - to return all contributions back to customers, and use all four prototypes as spare parts for racing cars. But fortunately, one copy of the Cerbera Speed 12 still survived, and was shown at the 2000 British Motor Show.

According to sources, the car was painted gray and had a plate with the number W312 BFV. After some time, a new plate appeared: W312 BHG. The body was repainted red. Subsequently, in 2004, the TVR Cerbera Speed 12 was updated with a new plate: W112 BHG. The body color remained the same, and a huge wing was added at the rear. This special TVR, the only one in existence as an original, was displayed for a time at the National Automobile Museum in Beaulieu and stood between the Ferrari F40 and the Ford GT40.

The 2000 supercar featured the same V12 engine as the prototype, producing 811 hp. with a 6-speed manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive.

The braking system and chassis were also similar to the prototype. The carbon fiber body mounted on a space frame had minor differences in the form of the absence of some air intakes.

Asceticism still reigned in the cabin, coupled with a safety cage.
