Description
Sbarro Ferrari 550 Maranello is a tuning of the Ferrari 550 Maranello model. Just two examples were fitted with the Sbarro body kit, with one of the two ultimately suffering serious damage in an accident. The cost of tuning was about 70,000 Swiss francs.
The modification of the car consisted of changing the appearance. Only in this case, the modification was not in the usual riveting of wing extensions filled with putty, but in removing the 550 Maranello panels, saving only the roof and hood, and installing new, enlarged ones. As a result, the width of the sports car has increased from 1.94 m to 2.08 m, which is a total of 14 cm more. The front section is widened by “only” 12 cm. The result can be seen by looking at the recessed door handles.
At the front, the spoiler edges framing the car were made in the style of the DTM championship. At the rear there was an impressive skirt with six Ansa exhausts.
