Jaguar

Jaguar (England) is a brand of the transnational automobile manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover. Jaguar was founded in 1922 as the Swallow Sidecar Company. After World War II, the name was changed to Jaguar. In 1966, it merged with the British Motor Corporation, which became British Motor Holdings (BMH), and in 1968 it merged with Leyland Motor Corporation and was renamed British Leyland. In 1975, the company was nationalized. In 1984, Jaguar separated from British Leyland and was listed on the London Stock Exchange until it was acquired by Ford in 1990. Ford owned Jaguar Cars, and in 2000 also bought Land Rover. In 2008, both companies were sold to Tata Motors (India).
