Isdera Commendatore GT
Description
The Isdera Commendatore GT is a 2+2-seat electric sports car that is primarily intended for the Chinese sports car market. It was presented at the Beijing Motor Show in 2018 as part of a collaboration with WM Motors.
Story
The last fifteen years the German company Isdera spent in oblivion and was mainly engaged in the service and restoration of their own old machines. But in 2017, the company was acquired by the Hong Kong investment fund Sinfonia. The main customer was the Chinese company WM Motor, after which the Isdera company began to develop and fine-tune electric vehicles under the Weltmeister brand.
Apart from the spectacular retro car Autobahnkurier, the only copy of which was assembled in 2006, the Commendatore GT coupe is the first new Isdera in 25 years, the first electric car of the brand, and the first sports car in its history with a landing formula 2+2.
The Commendatore GT has been extensively tested on the Nurburgring and Sachsenring circuits as well as road tested in real conditions. Only two examples were built.
Engine
The sports car was equipped with two electric motors with a capacity of 300 kW (408 hp) each, which amounted to 600 kW (816 hp) in total, as well as 1060 Nm of torque. The engines were located on the front and rear axles, which provided the electric vehicle with all-wheel drive.
The battery with a capacity of 105 kWh, located in the floor, was used as a power source, which allowed driving up to 500 km on the WLTP cycle. From the "quick" terminal, the battery could be charged to 80% in 35 minutes.
The coupe with a curb weight of 1750 kg was capable of accelerating to 302 kph, but for production cars the limiter was set to 250 kph. Acceleration time to 100 kph was 3.7 s, and to 200 kph in 9.8 s.
Exterior
The full carbon monocoque provided the necessary strength and rigidity for both safety and performance in all driving conditions. Probably, hydrocarbon fiber was in many respects the main material.
The body had a distinctive aerodynamic silhouette and gullwing doors. Inside there are four seats, but the rear seats are not full: small chairs designed to carry children or luggage.
Interior
The interior was trimmed with two-tone leather with blue edging, wood and carbon fiber, and control of almost all systems was displayed on touch panels. The driver also had two large displays for all the necessary information.
