Gemballa GmbH (Germany) is an enterprise engaged in the production and tuning of cars. The company is registered in the German city of Leonberg. The main activity of the company is to increase the power of Porsche cars and the production of own cars based on Porsche cars. The company was founded by Uwe Gemballa in 1981 under the name. In 2009, Gemballa's business had a global distribution network around the world with nine sales subsidiaries and about 50 employees. After the founder of the firm, Uwe Gemballa, was kidnapped in South Africa in February 2010, bankruptcy proceedings were opened. After that, Andreas Schwartz acquired the trade and name rights of the Gemballa trademark and the company began to function as Gemballa GmbH.
