Description
The Ferrari 575M Maranello is a two-seater gran turismo sports car introduced at the 2002 Geneva Motor Show and produced between 2002 and 2006. This is a modified version of the previous Ferrari 550 Maranello. The 575's name stands for engine displacement in centiliters, and the letter "M" is short for modificata ("modified").
The sports car received an engine with an increased displacement of 5.75 instead of 5.5 liters. Power was also increased from 485 hp. up to 515 hp Despite the increase in mass by several tens of kilograms, the dynamics of the supercar have improved: acceleration to 100 kph decreased from 4.5 s to 4.4 s, and top speed increased from 320 to 325 kph.
Unlike the 550M model, the 575M model received the option of choosing, in addition to a manual transmission, an automatic transmission for an additional 8,000 euros, also a 6-speed one. The model with such a box was designated F1.
The sports car's suspension was equipped with an adaptive system that monitored the condition of the road and automatically changed the stiffness of the suspension.
The 575M Maranello did not have many changes to the exterior: a refreshed front bumper, enlarged air intakes in the hood and new xenon headlights with body-color edging. 19-inch wheels were offered as a feature.
The interior has been redesigned to a greater extent. On the dashboard, the tachometer has been moved to the center of the instruments, and the three-spoke steering wheel has been updated, as has part of the center console. The sports seats have six power adjustments, and the driver's seat has a memory function.
The cost of the 575M Maranello with a manual transmission was 188,000 euros, with the F1 gearbox – 196,000 euros.
