Farnova Othello Concept

    In 2021, Shenzhen-based Farnova, founded in 2019, unveiled a prototype of the Othello electric hypercar in Beijing.

    The hypercar has a twin-engine setup, which, according to the developers, develops 1835 hp. and 12,000 N∙m (most likely, the torque value is indicated on the wheels, taking into account the gear ratio). The declared mass of the car is 1350 kg. The indicators provide acceleration to hundreds in 1.8 s, and up to 300 kph in 8.5, and a top speed of 420 kph.

    The 75 kWh lithium-ion battery, supplied by the Swedish company Northvolt, promises a range of 600 km (NEDC), but in what mode and at what speed is not specified. Charging takes from 30 minutes to six hours, depending on the terminal.

    The Italian group Esiste Surface Design was responsible for the appearance of the hypercar. The body is made of carbon fiber and other composites. Along with the diffuser, a rear wing is built into the tail, which is automatically extended by an electric drive, as well as an air brake on the roof.

    In the cabin, the role of the dashboard is played by a translucent shield of the projection display. Also available is the third level RC-Pilot autopilot. The seat belts are routed to the Recaro bucket seats from below.

    Farnova plans to start production of the Othello at its factory in Changde, China, in a limited edition of 200 pieces at a cost of 1,860,000 yuan (approximately US$288,000).
