Callaway C4 Corvette Speedster
Description
In 1990, Callaway introduced the Speedster, which differed from the convertible in that it lacked a soft top and had a low windshield.
Despite initially planning to produce 50 examples, only 12 were made. The last two were based on the Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 and were called Super Speedsters or Series II, producing 750 hp.
In addition to turbocharging, the sports cars received a sports suspension with adjustable shock absorbers, Brembo brakes and OZ Racing three-piece racing wheels with Bridgestone Potenza tires. Bridgestone introduced run-flat tires, the latest technology that eliminates the need for a spare tire on the Speedster.
The exterior of the car was designed by Paul Deutschman, who created a very unique body - a completely missing roof and a lowered glass line, as well as an interior reupholstered in high-quality Connolly leather.
