AC Cars Ltd

AC Cars Ltd (England) is one of the first car companies in the UK, which specializes in the production of exclusively sports cars. The company was founded in 1902. John Weller and John Portwine decided to engage in the production of cars on a partnership basis. AC Cars was renamed Autocarriers LTD in 1911 and renamed again AC Cars LTD in 1922. From 1919 to 1925, AC Cars LTD constantly exhibited its cars in numerous car races. In 1960, the AC Cobra was introduced, designed by Carol Shelby, who successfully combined a powerful American eight-cylinder engine and a very light chassis from AC Ace. From 1987 to 1992, AC was part of the Ford Motor Company, and then again found itself in private ownership.
